FORUM Celebrates National Credit Union Youth Week
Indianapolis, Indiana, April 11, 2011 – FORUM Credit Union will be celebrating National Credit Union Youth Week at all FORUM branch locations the week of April 18 through April 23. National Credit Union Youth Week was created by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) in 2001 as an opportunity for credit unions across the country to focus on the financial needs of young people and provide financial literacy education. The event focuses on teaching the benefits of saving and goal setting as well as inviting young people to open saving accounts at their credit union and make deposits this week and throughout the year. By participating in the National Credit Union Youth Week, FORUM hopes to continue its commitment to helping children and teens become financially aware.
Events during the week will include kids’ activities, giveaways, and two enter to win contests with prizes including an iPod shuffle and an iPod nano. FORUM will also be depositing $5 into any Aware Kids, Aware Teens, or Sprout account that is opened and $10 into any free Student Checking account that is opened. FORUM’s Sprout Account is a youth savings account designed for several purposes including paying for college, purchasing a car, and more. FORUM matches 10% of deposited funds per calendar year based on different tier levels.
FORUM provides interactive financial sites for kids, teens, and students as well. These sites host games, stories, financial videos, relevant links, account details, and blogs. Visit www.awarekidsjr.org, www.awarekids.org, www.awareteens.org, and www.survivalaccount.com.
