FORUM Credit Union's Spirit Advisory Council Wraps-Up Fundraising for Agapé

Indianapolis, Indiana, February 11, 2013 – Formed in 2005, the FORUM Spirit Advisory Council has worked toward facilitating community partnerships on behalf of FORUM Credit Union employees. Employees focused their 2012 fundraising efforts on Agapé Therapeutic Riding Resources, Inc.

Agapé was founded in 1986 by Cheryl Miller and her daughter Dawn. They initially developed a summer riding program for children with disabilities using the therapeutic value of horses to rehabilitate. Due to great summer success, it became a full-time, year round program serving individuals and schools throughout central Indiana.

FORUM employees raised approximately $20,000 during their 2012 fundraising efforts. FORUM held numerous special events and activities including $5 Jean Days, a first time golf outing, an Italian dinner, a 3 week employee auction, and more. FORUM employees, family, and friends also completed a day of service at the Agapé grounds. FORUM’s efforts contributed to the purchase of a new computer system and utility vehicle, repairs to a tractor, and reinforcements to horse shelters. FORUM also sponsored an Agapé horse which helped cover its vet care, food, and tack.

“FORUM Spirit’s purpose statement is ‘having fun and doing good’ and we definitely accomplished that during our efforts this past year,” said Jenny Budreau, FORUM’s Chief Operating Officer and FSAC leader. “It’s rewarding for the FORUM team to be able to help make a difference and work with other organizations, like Agapé, that have such a positive impact to our community.”

The FORUM Spirit Advisory Council continues to work toward initiatives such as promoting dedicated employee volunteerism, identifying innovative philanthropic opportunities, and contributing positively to the well-being of the community at large. FORUM will be announcing the 2013 Charity of Choice later this month.
