FORUM Credit Union Introduces Financial Coach Program
Indianapolis, Indiana, March 11, 2009 - FORUM Credit Union introduced a program that pairs members with FORUM Representatives to be their “Financial Coach.” Members of the credit union have the opportunity to sit down with a Financial Coach and review their budget, credit history, and financial goals. The Financial Coach then follows up with the member on a regular basis to make sure the member is following their plan.
“The Financial Coach program is designed for all members regardless of their financial situation. We evaluate their goals, whether they are saving for an upcoming purchase or getting out of debt. We then become an accountability partner to help keep them on track and support their goals,” says Andrew Spirrison, Regional Retail Manager.
“Our goal is to provide our members with the ability to become financially savvy. The Financial Coach program along with our SaveItUp Challenge and all the resources we are providing via our blogs and website combine to position FORUM as the leader in financial education in central Indiana,” says Kristi Lowell, Vice-President of Retail Delivery.
The Financial Coach can help members create a budget and also review their current product set to make sure they are utilizing the right services for their situation. The member may be missing out on opportunities for rewards or paying unnecessary fees, and the Financial Coach can put them in products that better suit them.
Financial Coaches are available at any of FORUM’s branch locations, and members can ask for their services. FORUM Representatives also identify members who they think could benefit from the program and ask them if they are interested. Members can also receive points toward the SaveItUp Challenge (www.savitupchallenge.com) by sharing their goals with a Financial Coach.
