FORUM Celebrates National Credit Union Youth Week
Indianapolis, Indiana, April 14, 2009 – FORUM Credit Union will be celebrating National Credit Union Youth Week at all FORUM branch locations the week of April 20 through April 25. Events during the week will include kid’s activities, giveaways, and a chance for kids, teens, and young adults to win prizes.
National Credit Union Youth Week was created in 2001 as an opportunity for credit unions across the country to focus on the financial needs of young people and provide financial literacy education. The event is considered a focal point for teaching the benefits of saving and goal setting as well as inviting young people to open saving accounts at their credit union and make deposits this week and throughout the year.
FORUM offers Aware Kids and Aware Teens accounts tied to rewards programs, giving kids and teens extra incentive to save. A free Student Checking account is also available for 16 to 24 year olds. The corresponding motto to these accounts is “Creating Financial Awareness for Our Youth.” By participating in the National Credit Union Youth Week, FORUM hopes to continue its commitment to helping children become financially strong.
More information on the events for the week can be found on FORUM’s website at www.forumcu.com under About Us/Events. Financial sites especially designed for kids and teens are also available through FORUM’s website. These sites include games, activities, and stories relating to money: www.awarekidsjr.org, www.awarekids.org, and www.awareteens.org.
