FORUM Announces New Hires

Indianapolis, Indiana, June 3, 2010 – FORUM Credit Union ($1.1B, IN) announces the hiring of Jim Carr, Vice President of Commercial Group, and Bryan Avery, Senior Relationship Manager of Commercial Group.

Jim Carr joined FORUM Credit Union in March 2010 as the Vice President of the Commercial Group. Jim has enjoyed a career of more than 20 years in commercial banking, beginning his career in the Ft. Wayne area before moving to Indianapolis in 1993.  Jim’s experience includes lending to small and mid-sized businesses, corporate banking for middle-market firms, private banking for professionals and executives, and investment and owner-occupied real estate lending.  In 2008, Jim was appointed by Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard to the Board of Directors for the Indianapolis Local Public Improvement Bond Bank and was re-appointed to a full 3-year term in 2009.  Jim and his family are active members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and Jim has served on a number of volunteer boards, including the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra (2006-2009) and Indy Reads (1999-2001).  He also participated in the Godparent Program for St. Mary’s Child Center (2004-2008). He received his Masters from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management and his Bachelors from Wabash College.

Bryan Avery joined the FORUM team in February 2010 as a Senior Relationship Manager of the Commercial Group.  Bryan has a wide variety of commercial lending experience and has served as a Corporate Finance Consultant and Business Banking Analyst, working with a small locally owned bank, a larger regional bank, and an independent broker. Before becoming involved in commercial lending, Bryan's professional experience included various sales positions where he developed skills related to business generation and networking. Bryan has a Physics degree from Miami University and an MBA from Butler University where he co-founded the Butler MBA Association in 2002. Bryan's community involvement includes participation in the Teaching Children to Save program, volunteering at the Cathedral soup kitchen, and coaching youth hockey and soccer teams.
