Is it Worth the Money?

If you’ve looked into having your house cleaned recently, you may be surprised at the cost. Or think about how much it costs to run your car through the car wash. Determining if tasks are worth the money is a very personal decision. Here are a few things to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to outsource.

1) Do you have it in your budget?
If the answer to this question is no, there really isn’t much more to decide. However, if you really despise a chore and would like to outsource it, try readjusting your budget to fit it in.

2) Do you have the time?
If you are stressed about a particular chore like cleaning or cooking, and it takes time away from the things you enjoy, like spending time with your family (and you do have it in your budget), then it might be a good idea to pay to have your house cleaned or use a cooking service.

3) Is there a less costly alternative?
Make sure you look into all of you options. Ask friends and family for recommendations for services. They may know someone who does painting, yard work, or handiwork on the side and would charge less than a professional.

4) Take advantage of deals
Online sites like Groupons or coupon books in the mail offer deeply discounted rates on most services. They are usually initial visits only, but you can find things like gutter work or window cleaning at up to 50% off (sometimes more).
