So, how many of you stayed up late last night to find out how all of the states were voting? I stayed up until around 11. It certainly has been an exciting race.
Regardless of your political views, I think it's important to note the significance that this is the first time in American history we will have an African American president. We are a part of living history, and I feel proud that our country has come far enough to vote for a non-white male as President. The following article has more to say on this matter:
Racial Significance Looms Large for Many at Polls.
In thinking about firsts, I'd like each of you to tell me about two figures in history (whether it be a political figure, athletic figure, etc.) that broke a barrier by being the first to do something.
I hope everyone has a great week!
