Hi everyone! This has been one crazy month so far with the weather, don't you think? Hail, winds, and rain...Indiana weather at its best or worst I guess! Did anyone have any damage to their house or cars from the storms? Thankfully, my family and I did not. I have friends that work for a landscape company during the summer for extra money, and they haven't been able to work when it's raining. So they sometimes have to rework their monthly budget to account for the missed pay.
Do any of you guys have summer jobs? I always had a summer job while in high school. It was one way I could save money or at least not have to ask my parents for money! If you do have a summer job, do you save your earnings? What are you saving for?
If you are saving money from a summer or part time job, remember that FORUM Credit Union has a great certificate for your age group called the AWARE certificate. In a normal certificate, you can't deposit money to it (except at the time of opening), but with the AWARE certificate you can (minimum of $20)! It requires $100 to open the certificate, and it earns a competitive interest rate. If you don't have an AWARE certificate, talk it over with your parents. It just might be the product for you!
