Figuring out how to make money as a teen may seem daunting at first, but there are several options available.  Take a look at the list below for teen employment opportunities.  

• Have extra stuff you don’t use anymore?  For quick cash, you could sell items on eBay or host a garage sale! 
• Check out Craigslist.  You’ll find odd jobs like landscaping, cleaning, and more. 
• Are you good in a particular subject matter?  How about a sport?  You could tutor or give lessons. 
• Love kids?  Try babysitting.  Put flyers out in your neighborhood to advertise.  Or, see if any local kids camps are in need of camp counselors.
• More of a pet lover?  Plenty of full-time workers with pets would pay you to pet sit or dog walk during the day time. 
• If you’d prefer to work outside, you might want to give snow shoveling or mowing lawns a try. 
• Already have an allowance, but would like to earn more?  Sit down with your parents and see if they’d be willing to negotiate raising your allowance if you take on more responsibilities. 
• Your local grocery store may be in need of extra cashiers/clerks.  Stop by and pick up an application. 
• Are you a good swimmer?  Being a lifeguard may come naturally to you.  Contact your local YMCA or neighborhood pool to see if they have positions available. 
• Department stores usually have opportunities for teens, too.  Plus, you may even receive an employee discount!  Visit your local mall to take a look at your options.
