Hi everyone! So, my friend is moving into her first house this Saturday. She is renting a U-haul and has asked several friends to help her move to save money. I will be up bright and early on Saturday morning to lend a hand! Based on a little bit of research I did, for a 6 hour time period it would cost around $29.95 to rent a 14 foot U-Haul truck, plus $.99 per mile. Let's say you make a few trips back and forth between your old place of residence and your new place and end up with 60 miles on the truck by the time you return it. That's $59.40 in mileage costs. So, that's a total cost of $89.35. Moving can of course be alot more costly, especially if you pay for moving services (someone else would be doing the lifting!).
What other cost saving tips can you think of for moving? Have you had to help your family move before?
