Football season is here! And so is the cost of going to games. Whether you're a season ticket holder or you purchase tickets every now and then for a game you'd really like to see, it's interesting to compare costs on going to the game or staying home and watching. The
average price of a football ticket is currently around $75. There are 8 home games during the regular season. So, if you and your spouse or friend go to 8 games at $75 per ticket, that's $1200 for the two of you! That doesn't even include pre-season games, purchasing food at the game, etc. For that price, you could purchase a
Samsung 50" Plasma TV for $799.99 and pay an average of $31.99 per month for a
basic satellite tv programming package. After purchasing the TV and paying for cable for the whole year at $31.99 per month, you'd finally get to the $1200 mark of paying for those 8 games. But you say, I like the excitement of the crowd and their energy during the game! Invite friends over and have a pitch-in. If your friends like football, there is sure to be some energy during the game! Plus, purchasing the TV is cheaper in the long run, as you probably won't be buying a new TV each year.
