This is a great question to ask yourself no
matter where you are financially. If you are spending more than you bring in,
you need to question where your money is going and what it is accomplishing in
your life. So, what can you live without? Here are few items to help you get
started improving your life financially as well as mentally.
Cable
There are so
many options now for watching TV shows that you may be able to get rid of your
cable and not miss out. You may be surprised how much free time you have if
you’re not watching shows you really don’t care about.
Gym
You may have
the greatest intentions to go to the gym, but if you don’t use your membership
on a regular basis, it’s probably best to cancel. Try outdoor activities or
community sessions that don’t require an annual commitment.
Habits
Whether it’s
a serious habit like smoking or an online shopping addiction, if there is
something that you are spending extra money on that is hurting your physical or
mental health, it’s time to confront the problem.
Entertainment
From eating
out to movie rentals, take a close look at what you are spending on
entertainment and cut back. Create a budget specifically for entertainment
either weekly or monthly and stick to it.
Landline
If you still
have a landline, you should consider cancelling it. Think about how often you
use it, if you can live without it, and what the cost savings would be.
These are
just a few items that you could possibly live without and to help get you
thinking about de-cluttering your life and finances.
