New CU Online Coming Soon!

Monday, 9 January 2012 13:21 by Courtney

In the coming weeks, FORUM will be rolling out a new and improved version of CU Online (our online banking site).  It will have some great new features as well as a few changes.  We hope this will enhance your online banking experience!

  • Authentication will be based on your username and password as it is currently, but the 2nd layer of authentication will be based on the use of a cookie (the site will remember what browser it is being accessed from).  If you prefer not to use the cookie, you can receive an email or text with a special code to login each time.
  • You will see all accounts that are tied to your social security number.  In the current CU Online, you may not see all of these accounts unless you manually added them at one point.  For organization, you may find it helpful to nickname your accounts in the existing CU Online or once you login to the new CU Online.
  • There will be a new dashboard page when you login.  This will include an overview of your budget, spending charts, and your cash flow accounts.  On your cash flow accounts, you will be able to assign categories to your transactions (ex. entertainment, groceries, education, insurance, pet care).  For a demo on managing your finances, click here.
  • You will now have the opportunity to receive customizable and real time alerts via text or email!  Note: Some existing transaction specific alerts are being consolidated into one “All Transactions” Alert.  However, there are many new ones being added for your convenience.   Also, some of the new alerts can only be received via email due to the length of the alert.
  • In the new CU Online, you will have the ability to see pending debit card transactions at the top of your account history page.
  • Your accounts will be in numerical order (in the current CU Online, they are in the order you added them).  If you would like to see certain accounts at the top of your Accounts page, you can use “My Favorites.”
  • Just like the existing system users are strongly encouraged to create their own unique Username and Password for login and security purposes.
  • Everything is user based in the new CU Online.  Example: If you setup a transfer and your spouse is tied to that account, they will not see the transfer when they login using their own username.  When scheduled transfers from the old CU Online are migrated to the new version, only the primary member (the member listed first on the account) will see the transfer even if the joint member (the member listed second or third on the account) set up the transfer in the old CU Online.  If the primary member doesn’t have a CU Online username, then the existing transfers will be linked to the first joint owner who has an existing username.   To change this, a transfer can always be deleted and then set up again under the username who wishes to manage it in the new version.
