Friday, May 09, 2014

FORUM Credit Union’s Spirit Advisory Council has partnered with Prevail, Inc. as part of its ongoing efforts to facilitate community partnerships that positively contribute to the well-being of the community.  The Spirit Advisory Council, which was formed in 2005, determines a special charity for FORUM employees to sponsor each year as part of its Charity of Choice Program.
Prevail, Inc. was formed in 1986 and seeks to educate and engage the community to prevent crime and abuse while helping restore the lives of those who have been affected.  The agency serves women, men, children and adolescents without cost or discrimination.  Prevail’s services include individual appointments, support groups, protective order assistance, court support, employment services, financial education, legal services, a HopeLine Cell phone program, transportation to the shelter and more.
FORUM recently held its fifth annual Tax Day “Break”fast Celebration which featured a special pancake breakfast for employees.  In addition to the breakfast, FORUM employees have also been able to participate in a variety of fundraising efforts including FORUM’s Souperbowl Cookoff, an employee auction, $5 Jean Days, and an employee sack lunch opportunity from a local restaurant.  At this time, FORUM employees have raised more than $14,000 and will continue fundraising efforts through 2014.
